Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009Our treasure hunt was a success! Thank you! The kids had a great time. It got a little crazy once the red team told the helper they had all 6 pieces of the clue because another team was very
close. They all ran to the area where the treasure was buried and there was some heated debating about who actually won the right to dig! It was a very competitive frenzy at one point, but we got
through it! The red team dug up the treasure only to find that it was a ‘fake’ treasure full of fake money and candy! The map was in the treasure box and on the other side of their clue pieces was the code to decipher the map to find the real treasure…which was a pinata hidden in the house. Of course, all the kids received the candy from the pinata!
If I were to do anything differently, I would have made sure every kid was very clear about the rules of the game and I would have bought better toliet paper for the mummy game! The cheap rolls broke really easily and wouldn’t stay on the kids! Thank you so much for your ideas! I thought it was a great fun and different thing to do with the kids.

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009Hi Nikki
It was a big hit at my son’s 7th Birthday party. It was a pirate themed b-day and I used some of the riddles and I made a treasure map that at each station had gold coins to collect and then ended at a real treasure chest that my son had ask for filled with treasures and gifts for him and his friends….he loved it and they all wanted to play again…..thanks for the help!

Monday, November 2nd, 2009Nikki,
We had our Treasure Hunt tonight and it was a great success! The occasion was our daughter’s 16th birthday party and we wanted to do something different that would also be challenging. There were 3 groups and they all really got into the game. The treasure was a treasure box pinata and because Sara will soon be getting her permit we tried to include a car theme. The treasure map led the winning team to the keys to the car that would unlock the trunk. The prize was found and all the partygoers enjoyed batting at the pinata!
Thanks for guiding us through the process with your great instructions and planning help. We’ll certainly use this game again!

I wound up dividing the two groups and the party was an absolute blast!!!! I really appreciate you emailing me back. You have WONDERFUL follow up! It is good to know that in the future having a one group hunt is always an option.
I gathered many tips from your book and added, changed, revised, etc. It was an incredible layout for brainstorming. I can’t thank you enough. I was unsure of my age group (15-16 yrs). They are at a really delicate age… but one of the boys from the party told my daughter that now all future parties are to be at our house!!!
Thanks again and God Bless!
