Hi Nikki,

I am the one handling our treasure hunt. It’s a company picnic

We are in Guam (US Territory, an island in the Pacific) - it’s hot and sometimes rainy. Our setting for the party is at a beach/picnic area outdoors. Plenty of grassy areas, plenty of water, but very little sand - mostly big rocks instead.

August 5th

this is the summer company picnic

about 250 guests - mostly adults but also some children

Our theme is a treasure hunt - I’m having some trouble with this one, as I would like a slogan or title for our event. I like the pirate idea too, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to NAME our event after ‘pirates’ or ‘raiders’ or ‘plunderers’ etc. as it is the company’s image at stake

We have already begun planning the games and playing areas for our treasure hunt. since we have so many people, I think we may plan a simulated trial-run with a few of us prior to the event, just to make sure we’ve planned it well. I’ll let you know if we have any questions.

Thanks!

Hello Nikki,
We are planning a party in Brussels, Belgium, which is where we are based although we are British and all the children are English speaking.
It is for my daughter’s 7th birthday party on 3rd July and we are expecting 14 (maybe 15) children between the ages of 6 1/2 and 7 1/2.
I have read through the book a couple of times and I think it looks good. Some of the games look at bit tricky for them, perhaps the message written backwards is too hard, but I guess we could substitute it for another. The only real concern I have is that the children’s reading skills may not be up to it (they start reading late here - they’ve only been at it since September), so I thought I could incorporate lots of symbols to help them.
Also, does it matter if the teams are not of equal sizes? I was thinking of 2 teams of 4 members and 2 of 3 members. Will it still work? I’d be grateful to hear any comments you have.
Best regards,

Philippa Stewart, Belgium

Hello Nikki,
I have read through your scavenger hunt planner and have gotten some good ideas. The party is in Ann Arbor, MI for my daughters 14th birthday this weekend. My husband got a limo to truck 14 girls around. I think I want to go with a photo theme around town. Any thoughts? I’m sure they’ll have fun no matter what.

The treasure hunt party will take place in Concord, NC. next weekend, Saturday, October 15th at 6pm.
It is going to be a costume Halloween party.
The party is for my 12 year old sister and about 15 of her friends so they will range in age from 11-13. It will be a girl/boy party. Most every girl that will be attending plays softball so they are all tomboys.
