Friday, November 14th, 2008We did have fun. There was one adult and one child on each team and it was so cute to see the kids come wrapped as mummies.
One hyperactive child only came with partial shards of toilet paper since he couldn’t stop moving. We weren’t picky on how much of their body was covered. One little girl never moved and she came perfectly wrapped. I recommend a toilet paper like Scott, since the softer rolls fell apart too easily. I found out my adult niece couldn’t spell backwards and she became very frustrated! I think everyone was surprised that it wasn’t just a straightforward ‘here’s the map, find the treasure’ and they were very surprised to actually have to DIG for the treasure!
I used a large tin wrapped in a plastic bag, but when the shovel hit, the bag broke and the tin lid got dented, so a little dirt got in, but not much. The trouble was they kept trying to pull it out before totally uncovering it.

Thursday, November 13th, 2008Well, we had the treasure hunt yesterday. It went really well, the children were so excited and had a fantastic time. I literally buried the treasure and it was lovely watching them dig, surrounded by the other 15 children.
My nephew and niece, my brother and sister, and of course my husband, were all helpers and they enjoyed it as much as the children. Needless to say, I was shattered last night after all the planning, preps and doing, but it was well worth it just to watch the children?s faces.
Many thanks for replying to my email, and for the ebook I purchased, I just don’t know what to follow this with next year!

Monday, November 10th, 2008Thanks 4 the mail Nikki. The treasure hunt game went great, and if we have a second and third opportunity to play it will go even better! My wife and I are in Germany at the moment but when we?re back in N.A. I?m sure my wife will write a more detailed report. Best Regards, Louis {Antje,s hubby}

Sunday, November 9th, 2008Hi Nikki, our treasure hunt at our spring campout went very well, even though we had to dodge a few thunderstorms. Our scout and parents really enjoyed it. It was different and it was fun. And we are here to have fun. And we do plan to use it again for our fall campout, which is in the planning stage now. That’s in October. Made a couple of mistakes on the planning, but learned a lot from this event. Will be keeping in touch soon to see what options we have for our next event.

Saturday, November 8th, 2008Nikki, just wanted to let you know that my son’s birthday party went really well. I had a lot of fun putting the treasure hunt together and the boys enjoyed all the challenges and especially digging up the treasure! All the instructions and the question puzzle were a bit challenging for them even though I modified some of the questions (they were 8 year olds) but they had fun! I used your ‘matching items’ game to pair up the boys before the treasure hunt started, which worked out well. Thanks for the ideas and putting it all out on ‘paper’ for me. I will definitely use it for other parties.

Friday, November 7th, 2008Nikki: Thanks for your message. The party is tonight in Oceanside, NY for a group of 13 year olds. I purchased your book on Monday and have put together a Treasure Hunt using baseball terms although I don’t consider the party to have a theme. I am using some of the suggestions for challenges in your book as well as having made up a few of my own. Your book was very clear and the instructions were all easy to understand. I am so glad I found your website!! I was going to attempt to put a Treasure Hunt together on my own and I was procrastinating over it as you may have figured out from the fact that I just ordered the book Monday!!!

Friday, November 7th, 2008Vermont, USA - at a small public library in Vernon. The party is to support our Summer Reading program. The theme is - Realms of Reading - and while most of our program will use a medieval theme, I?ve chosen the pirate theme pack as appropriate. All ages will take part - the summer reading is for kids from birth through high school. The hunt will include parents. We want to use a medieval theme
The treasure hunt planner book seems very thorough, which is a huge help to us. We?re a small library with a small staff and don?t have the time to put all the work into that you have done for us! Thanks!!!

Friday, November 7th, 2008Hi Nikki. It was a big hit at my son’s 7th Birthday party. It was a pirate themed b-day and I used some of the riddles and I made a treasure map that at each station had gold coins to collect and then ended at a real treasure chest that my son had ask for filled with treasures and gifts for him and his friends….he loved it and they all wanted to play again…..thanks for the help!

Thursday, November 6th, 2008Hi Nikki, the Treasure Hunt was a GREAT success, and everyone had a GREAT time at the annual Block Party! ALL the kids (and I mean all….there must have been at least 60 - 70 kids participating) had a great time, and I think the adults at each of the participating homes on the block did also! We did the Pirate theme and everyone seemed to enjoy all of the pirate flags…balloons, and the Pirate we had ‘hanging in the galley’ of Pirate Beach (he was a bit scary for the real youngsters…but it definitely added to the effect we were trying to achieve.)
We had a huge Treasure Chest ‘buried’ in our back yard filled with all sorts of toys, candy bags, faux jewelry, coins etc…. and the winning team all seemed to revel in the excitement.
We can’t thank you enough for your help. The program really helped us to plan, and make the event as special as you had described. Thanks for all of the pointers along the way, and we look forward to possibly hosting this event at our next Block Party!
All our best and many thanks again for providing such an innovative and helpful tool to make the party a huge success. Agrrrrr Matey!

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008Hi! I just wanted to write…I found the treasure hunt very easy to plan with all of your instructions! The only place I had trouble was when trying to ‘age’ the map. I could have used a little more instruction on that, rather that just use cold tea!
Great program,

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008Hi Nikki We finally completed our Treasure Hunt last week! We had so much fun — thank you for the great kick-start!!! I ordered your Treasure Hunt software package way back in February.
Your software was just what I needed to get started, get me thinking about what I wanted to do — and it was GREAT fun! Everyone, from kids to adults, had a great time! For me, it was like Christmas, having chosen wonderful presents for all — and watching everyone Ooooh and Aaaah. My participants had a ball! Of course, now that everyone had so much fun, next year I have to come up with a game for EVERYONE — the grownups want to play, too!!!
Ah, the challenge! We had great fun!

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008Our scavenger hunt was great. Most enjoyable item was definitely best freebies from Selfridges make-up dept - they came back with bag loads! All opportunities for extra points were definitely taken up and therefore having a digital camera was great as we had the hen with groom and best men of another wedding party, the hen sitting in some ambassador’s car, the team doing maypole dancing etc etc.
I was incredibly nervous about the whole thing, but it was a roaring success and turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable day. The only thing I regret is that I couldn’t really take part!
With kind regards,

Monday, November 3rd, 2008We had the party I used the treasure hunt party planner as a guide. I only had one team and had the girls work together. I set up six challenges (using your ideas as guides) the challenges were building a tower out of cups, building a pyramid out of people, writing a birthday limerick, singing a song, perform a play/skit and scramble puzzle. The girls had a great time and worked together. Thanks
