As our complicated lives roll on …we have had to postpone the treasure hunt/ birthday party until next year for my daughter. She will be 13 next year. She is thinking of adding boys to the mix so the hunt will be perfect for this party. I’m sure it will be highly successful with all the time I have to plan! (If I don’t wait until the last minute.) We live in a very small but attractive and vibrant small town, we’re planning on using the down town (about two blocks long) as the environment for the hunt. Our town closes down after 5:30pm, so we should have the place to ourselves. I am an artist and love the latitude of creating this hunt with props, etc. I will stay in touch and if you have any ideas to help stimulate a clever hunt including shop fronts as the theme let me know . Thanks for all your e-mails, I look forward to keeping you posted and asking questions, if I may, as I do a re-creation of the hunt for our town.

I am actually planning an event for the cub scouts and this will help a lot in the planning. The treasure hunt will be sometime this summer or early fall and we are talking 100-150 kids!

Hello Nikki

I have read the treasure hunt party games, its interesting but it has more work on it to do, but the scavenger hunt is great I really got good ideas, no regrets on this book for sure.

It will be my daughter birthday, and In our community and culture they don’t celebrate bdays and such occasions, but I do for my family, so everyone always waits for my children’s bdays.

I will be doing the scavenger photo hunt, that will be different and fun.

Originally I was going to use the Treasure Hunt and plan a ‘Trip to Britain’ with a Visa as an invitation and serve fish and chips in Newspaper. My son didn’t really get that whole theme so we are going with the Pirate Treasure Hunt you sent me which he is very excited about. Glad I got both-thanks so much

I found a great web site ‘’ which has pirate stuff galore’ so prop wise we are well on our way (I even got Pirate music from the web site). I think I will put a lock on the treasure chest anyway, and give out three numbers at some of the stations. With three numbers they should be able to work out the different combinations and open the chest.
I won’t do teams, they will all work together. I would like to add one additional station. I like the mummy idea from the regular game-do pirates do anything similar?

Do you have suggestions for food at a Pirate party?

I am having a great time planning this party and couldn’t have done it properly without your assistance.

Now I just need to learn to talk and act like a pirate!

Thanks for your note and yes I’ve downloaded the documents and briefly reviewed the materials. It looks to be a great outline for what we want to do.

Some specifics on the party:

Where: We live just north of Dallas, Texas
Event: Our twin boys’ 11th birthday party - looking at 8 boys in all; 10-11 years in age.
Expectations: A good out-door activity where they might even ride their bikes to different stations to do both puzzles and team building exercises. Plan to make two teams, each lead by one of the birthday boys.

We have a new housing development just south of house that has numerous paved streets but no houses. Thought this a perfect venue for the Hunt - safe from traffic and lots of room to play the games. We might have to have some alternative plans depending on weather.

These are the ideas so far - now need to spend some time reading more details of your book.

Any additional ideas would be welcome.

Hi Nikki!

I just wanted to give you a report back on how the treasure hunt went.

The kids had a ball! I got some really great ideas from your book about what to do at the ports. I have a request out to our family for people to send me any pictures they took. I’ll send you one if I get a cute one.

You?re right - We had fun!. I have held 2 hunts since buying the treasure hunt game product and since my recent purchase of your instant treasure hunt - another one today just for my 2 kids (6 and 7)
I think another one for Halloween or Christmas would be good.

We had the scavenger hunt party and the girls loved it! I have never seen 17 18 year olds change clothes from their dresses and high heels into jeans and sweats so quickly! It was amazing how competitive and creative in their searches they were! You provided a lot of great ideas I know we will use again. Thanks.
