HI, Nikki

Thank you for your reply, it was very helpful. I decided to purchase your product, I’m under the gun to create a fun bday party for my 10 year old daughter so I’m going to shoot for the mall scavenger hunt. I’m sure your ebook will make my life much easier as I’m too busy to figure this one out by myself!

Appreciate your time. Have a good day.

Our party will be a week long event held in Italy (Tuscany) during the last week of July. We have hired two large villas each for a week in close proximity to each other for our daughters wedding. As most of the guests will be travelling from Australia (bride) and the U.S. (grooms family) and we haven’t met I was looking for a lighthearted theme.

My idea was that everyone could be given a list of items and/or questions that had to been collected over the week as guests toured the area (a red wine label from a famous local winery, a ticket to a Florence museum etc) along with some quiz questions/puzzles etc.

I have read through the planner and have started coming up with ideas.

The party will be held at the Mall of America, Bloomington MN with 6 - 12year olds- 2 teams of 3. I have purchased t-shirts for all of them to wear so that people will know that they are playing a game. I’m having difficulty trying to judge how many things I need to have them play for

two hours. Any ideas on that would be of great help.

I really want to do a variety of things, like riddles, so one that I have come up with is, picture in front of the store that ‘every athletic team has’ answer Coach. But of course they have to figure it out. I’m doing a lot of hunt and find with pictures but I haven’t come up with anything to exciting for them to actually look for. I am using your ideas on perfume card, cellular phone brochure but those are pretty easy. I have a couple of weeks until the party so maybe I can come up with more ideas.

If you have other obscure items to find, let me know because I’d like to challenge them.

Thank you.

Hi Gina

It is always difficult to judge just how long things will take, as what you think is hard they will do quickly and what you believe to be easy will stump them for ages!! (Just the way it goes…). So I suggest that you have way too many items on your list and a strict time limit (penalties for being late back). That way they will do as much as they can and no one is expected to do everything.

To challenge them a little, give them some photo challenges or tasks to be completed. You can always give extra point for tasks so that they are encouraged to do them, rather than just stick to the easy stuff.

Best Wishes

Hello Nikki,
I have read through your scavenger hunt planner and have gotten some good ideas. The party is in Ann Arbor, MI for my daughters 14th birthday this weekend. My husband got a limo to truck 14 girls around. I think I want to go with a photo theme around town. Any thoughts? I’m sure they’ll have fun no matter what.

Hi Nikki, My son is having his ‘half’ birthday at school because it is during the summer.

We did the Pirate Treasure Hunt Game for his whole birthday last summer. Anyway, he asked me if we were going to do a ‘really great and cool party like last time’ for his half birthday. So 6 months later he still remembers the Pirate Treasure Hunt and still thinks it was cool!

I thought I would keep this Scavenger Hunt on hand.

Hey Nikki.
I’m the Student Council Sponsor at a small school, only 50 kids in 7th through 12th. This year for homecoming, with your help I had Survivor Week. We had 5 tribes, and believe me they loved it. I had a big poster in the hall to tabulate the scores. Everything got extra crazy because the teams were never more than a few points apart.

If you expand on this let me know and also any ideas for next year’s Survivor Week would be greatly appreciated, because the kids already said we have to do this again.

Thanks for all the help!!!!!

Hi Nikki,
our birthday scavenger hunt was a GREAT success. Your material gave me lots to choose from and I was grateful. I used the treasure map for the invitations and rolled them up to hand out. The list was on the treasure map and it was 8 items to look for or info to find and 8 were photos to take to make memories & proof of it getting done. It was a teen girl team against teen guy team and the playing field was the city of Wichita, KS so they had a certain time to be back complete or not and the one with the most done was the winner. They all came back with wonderful stories and had lots of fun. I learned though that the guy against girl wasn’t the best cause the guys were too COOL to do some of the list, but the things they did they had FUN! Whereas if they had mixed teams the girls would have persuaded them into doing everything.

While planning this double birthday party it has prompted other ideas one for our leadership Christmas party at church promoting unity & working together to accomplish a task.

Also I have talked with our the coordinator who is up for the idea of a scavenger hunt during next summer’s Family Reunion. Should be loads of fun.

Thanks for the great info! I am going to try to send a photo let me know if it makes it.

Our scavenger hunt was great. Most enjoyable item was definitely best freebies from Selfridges make-up dept - they came back with bag loads! All opportunities for extra points were definitely taken up and therefore having a digital camera was great as we had the hen with groom and best men of another wedding party, the hen sitting in some ambassador’s car, the team doing maypole dancing etc etc.

I was incredibly nervous about the whole thing, but it was a roaring success and turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable day. The only thing I regret is that I couldn’t really take part!

Hi,
We actually had our scavenger hunt this past Friday. I combined several of your ideas and planned a mall scavenger hunt for my daughters birthday (she turned 11). We had pictures and items that had to be found (that you couldn’t buy) and some that you had to buy. She and all of her friends had a great time!

The assurance of that came when several of her friends told their mothers they wanted them to plan a scavenger hunt for their birthdays.

Your e-book was amazing. I was worried when my daughter asked me to plan a scavenger hunt as I had never done it before and my mother (who used to plan them for my sister and I) passed away.

So, add me to your testimonials because I am a very satisfied customer and will use your planning book for years to come!

Thanks,

Nikki,

Your product sounds terrific, but I’m at a loss as to which version to purchase. Our volunteer fire department has an annual Homecoming (fund-raiser) and I’m planning a scavenger hunt. The age range could be 10 to 18. Would the ‘kids’ option be too young if I split the group or would I be able to modify per your examples?

Sincerely,

Hi Bethany

If you are referring to our Treasure Hunt Party Game, I suggest the adult / all ages version would work fine for a group of 10 -18 year olds. We do also have a scavenger hunt product.

There are some differences between our major ebook products: Treasure Hunt and Scavenger Hunt. The Treasure Hunt Party Game is based around six locations, at each location, the teams are required to complete a challenge or puzzle in order to win pieces of a clue. The clue pieces when put together will lead them to the treasure map and then onto the treasure. The Scavenger Hunt game is about collecting items or completing tasks on a list. Teams compete to complete the list, or to earn points in a given timeframe. The game style is your choice.

Best wishes
Nikki

Hi Nikki -

A word of thanks — I used your book to plan a scavenger hunt for my company’s annual meeting. The meeting had approximately 30 people was held in downtown Reno, NV.

The meeting’s participants couldn’t stop raving about how much fun they had on the scavenger hunt and getting to know their teammates along the way. We combined a hunt for actual items (such as a spoon and something gold), a hunt for information (the name of the Civic Leader of the Year, the name of the director a play at a local theater) with a photo hunt (pictures of all team members with their toes in the Truckee River, a picture with a certain employee at a casino, a picture with an art object on the sidewalk). For bonus points, we challenged each team to buy and bring back the most exciting item they could with $5. We then had all the meeting participants vote on the most exciting item brought back by the other groups (they couldn’t vote for their own team’s item) and awarded bonus points for the winning item. A great time was had by all during the Hunt as well as presenting their exciting item to the other groups.

Your book was very helpful in knowing the types of clues to include, items to search for, ground rules and scoring. We wouldn’t have had such a successful event without the help your book provided.

Thanks again

Thank you,

Everything went well. I think the item they had the most fun with was finding something with the letter M. My son’s name starts with the letter M. They had about 50 questions about what they could use. Of the 25 items on their list, they were unable to get only two items a postage stamp and a 4 leaf clover. What surprised me the most was the number of parents and kids who had no idea what a Scavenger Hunt was.

Thank you again for your help.

Ms. Wilson,

I plan the Scavenger Hunt for our Employee Awards day at our college. We have a theme for the event and I try to also incorporate a theme for the hunt. This year we are having a western theme, so I went with the same theme in relation to our campus and Texas. Attached you will find my list so far.

Dear Nikki:

Your ebook is a treasure in its own. We are going to have the scavenger hunt-birthday party on June 15, it’s for a 16-year old girl whom I had to convince that the clues were not going to be ‘dumb’ - I read a couple from various age groups and she smiled!!!!! That’s a heck of an accomplishment, so now she trusts her parents that we actually could pull this off. (she of course does not remember all the previous successful parties that we threw for her and her sisters while they were growing up, we don’t get credit for those).

We live in Massachusetts, a little town (18,000 residents) west of Boston called Westborough. It used to be a sleepy little town, we had 12 dairy farms when we moved here in 1980, and now it’s a affluent suburb.

Because the party will be held on the last day of school, there’s a lot of activities going on in town so we just hope that this hunt will be one of the most attended one. I had not thought about a theme, beyond ‘last day of school’…. With a 16-year old, and a girl on top, who quite be quite finicky, we try to accommodate her wishes while being responsible. For instance, she wanted the scavenger hunt at night…. well, that did not work for us, we were not going to be responsible for a group of teenager roaming about town at dark. So we had to compromise and I think we came up with a good plan. Her father’s still on the fence, because we’ll have to have adult drivers lined, but it’s a small inconvenience to pay for the security of the kids and the pleasure that they’ll all derive from the party.

I read through the book and then printed out the pages that I needed - I’ll pull from various age groups because some of the clues are a riot - 4 ice cubes? and bring them back unmelted? I just have to throw that one in.

So I have high expectations that the kids will be very excited and happy with the event. The next challenge that we have not quite yet overcome is to agree on the food to serve. One challenge at a time..

Thank you for your wonderful material.

Hi Nikki,

Thank you for checking in with me. I have read the scavenger hunt book all the way through. We are having the party this weekend and the theme is the Pirate Treasure Hunt. The occasion is the first boating rendezvous for our Northern Neck Sail & Power Squadron. Boats will be rafting up together in the creek near our house and boating over for a barbecue. The age range for our group is mid 30’s to 80’s. There were a lot of fantastic ideas in your book and the pirate theme pack. I think we are going to have a lot of fun with it.

Hi Nikki,

I am planning a party for Washington state, USA. It will be May 13. It’s my son’s 13th birthday; there will be about 15 guests ages 12 and 13. We aren’t planning a theme so far. We had the idea for this kind of party or a scavenger hunt, but we are really busy right now and felt overwhelmed by putting it all together, so finding your party planner was very helpful. We are just starting to put it all together, so I don’t have any firm details.
Tentatively, I am planning a couple of scavenger hunt type clues starting at a local playing field and leading to a local park where the main treasure hunt party game will be set up, similar to the party guide. This is because my son really wanted to go all through town, but the treasure hunt in one location seemed a lot more practical, so I’m trying to compromise a bit.

I’ll email you if I have any questions as things get more definite.

Thanks, you’ve taken some pressure off!

Hello Nikki

I have read the treasure hunt party games, its interesting but it has more work on it to do, but the scavenger hunt is great I really got good ideas, no regrets on this book for sure.

It will be my daughter birthday, and In our community and culture they don’t celebrate bdays and such occasions, but I do for my family, so everyone always waits for my children’s bdays.

I will be doing the scavenger photo hunt, that will be different and fun.

We had the scavenger hunt party and the girls loved it! I have never seen 17 18 year olds change clothes from their dresses and high heels into jeans and sweats so quickly! It was amazing how competitive and creative in their searches they were! You provided a lot of great ideas I know we will use again. Thanks.

Hi! Nikki!

I will be using the treasure hunt for a neighborhood party and also the magic trick and party games at our camping reunion at the beach in August. You have saved my brain a lot of study and thinking. Thanks again for your help.

I have used your treasure hunt game twice for children 8 and under. They loved it. The clues made them think and the adults assisting them enjoyed the hunt as well. I’m sorry I don’t have pictures but I will use the game again and send you some. It’s a wonderful way to surprise a young guest coming to visit. A great icebreaker. Your games always make me look so clever.

The scavenger party was a big success! Had 4 teams of 7-8 girls ages 12-13. The ‘bigger or better’ theme was great. Each team kept each item obtained and in the end all the teams voted for the winning team. The winners received $10 each and everyone else could take home any of the collected items they so desired. They worked up their appetites and enjoyed the taco bar. Fun was had by all! Thanks again.
