Games are a must at all kid parties to keep the little darlings occupied and enjoying the party and each other. Some of the most popular parties have been time tested and never seem to lose their appeal. There are a few things we need to do to make things flow well and one is to plan age appropriate games for the party. Typically a 2 hour party would require 3-4 games depending on the game. It is also a good idea to have some back up games just in case something goes wrong. Remember, if the kids are enjoying the game let them continue to play and enjoy it!
The majority of these games can be played indoors.
Child Party Games typically involve races of some sort. They are the most popular activities for children. You can turn almost any activity into a race. Not all races have to be running games or played outdoors. These Child Party Games give you a variety of team races and individual races.
Supplies: A roll of toilet paper and a roll of tape for each team.
Divide group into two or more teams. One person from each team volunteers to be the mummy. On the word "go" the teams race to wrap the mummy from the neck down with the toilet paper. If the paper rips, they must tape it back on to continue. First team to use up the roll of toilet paper wins. A fun Child Party Game that requires you to take pictures of the finished mummy as well as while the children are wrapping the mummy!
Scavenger hunts are becoming very popular for parties.
There are so many creative ways to host a scavenger hunt. There are many ideas on the internet or your local party store but the best hunts are ones that your kids have an input in.
A classic!
Supplies: A spoon for each child and a small object that fits onto the spoon like a cotton ball, peanut, bead, marble, hard candy or penny.
Divide the group into two teams and line them up arms length apart. Give the person at the beginning of the line the small item. On the word "go" they pass the item from player to player without using their hands only the spoon. If the item falls to the ground, it then goes back to the beginning before it can be passed again. A team wins if the item gets to the end of the line.
Supplies: Balloons inflated
Played in the same manner as the spoon race except the children pass the balloon using only their elbows, chin or knees!
A Child Party Game that is entertaining for all!
Supplies: Potato sacks or burlap sacks.
Two children per one sack. Each person has to put a foot into the sack. They line up arms length or more apart from each other. On the word "go" they have to hop their way to the finish line that is placed 20 or so feet away from the starting line.

"Thank you for this excellent product. We had the party on Saturday and it was fantastic. I live in France so had to translate it and we did a Harry Potter theme. For the code, we sent the kids to a computer where they typed in the code and then a PowerPoint presentation sent them to the kitchen for the treasure. It was really brilliant fun and I know we'll be doing it all again soon! Alex Laurie, Eure et Loir France |

"Hi Nikki We had a great Treasure Hunt for my daughter’s 11 year old party. We had five teams and I had two other grown-ups helping me. I did the pea challenge, the balancing on a rope, a general knowledge quiz, the backward clues quiz, a memory game and a beat the buzzer game, some they found more challenging than others. The treasure map I hid inside a balloon and mixed it in with lots of other balloons so they had to pop them all to find the map, I had also hidden the bag of balloons. The treasure map was then found and the hunt for the chest started - it was located up a tree. They all had great fun, the weather stayed dry and the bags of gold coins for the treasure box were appreciated. What a great idea, I shall certainly keep it for using again. Best Wishes."
